BIOGRAPHY

Soprano Jasmin Ward is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Vocal Arts at The Juilliard School where she studies under the tutelage of Kevin Short. While at Juilliard, Ward has appeared as Rose Segal in John Musto’s Later the Same Evening, and will make her role debut as Madame Lidoine in Juilliard Opera’s upcoming production of Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites. This summer, Ward will join the Santa Fe Opera as an Apprentice Artist where she will make her house and role debut as Gerhilde in Wagner’s Die Walküre. She also recently made her Alice Tully Hall debut performing selections from Strauss’ Op. 27. Ward was awarded the Murray Rosenthal/ Philip Hagemann award in the 2024 Opera Index Vocal Competition and was selected as a semifinalist in the Houston Grand Opera’s Eleanor McCollum Competition. Her operatic credits include Miss Pinkerton in Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief and Ruth in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance. She has also performed scenes from Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra as Amelia at Juilliard and from Britten’s Peter Grimes as Ellen Orford at Virginia Commonwealth University.
